The Bahamas

The Bahamas – set in the middle of the Caribbean, stretching between the depths of the North Atlantic and Florida's eastern coast, renowned as a maritime playground for sun-starved globe trotters, this stunning string of subtropical islands is so much more than a cruise-ship stopover. The Bahamas is made up of over 700 islands and 2400 cays, most of which are still uninhabited. One thing they all have in common is that they’re all fringed by spectacular coral, seemingly endless ocean trenches and white picture postcard sandy beaches. From the grit and bustle of funky Nassau, we escape to the northern reaches of the island where an astonishing array of beaches and reefs, together with the beaming smiles of the locals await us.

This particular lifestyle & location shoot begins at Compass Point Beach Resort on the northern coast of Grand Bahama, just east of the much talked about Love Beach. As the retreat’s owner’s proudly tell their guests, this ‘is your home away from home in the Bahamas’ as the peace and tranquility of this idylic island is there for the taking, combined perfectly with a plethora of colourful rustic wooden huts scattered around lush gardens right on a private beach with the inherent calm turquoise waters that one comes to expect when visiting this quiet corner of the world. Swim the cerulean depths of the Atlantic Ocean, tan by poolside, or explore Love Beach's many reefs… The perfect destination to unwind and r-e-l-a-x…
