The southern reaches of Basilicata and Puglia are a couple of hidden gems in Southern Italy. Basilicata, and the Medieval town of Matera is a real discovery especially. An area of adventure with a loving charm, unspoiled landscapes, strong traditions and beaming with culture and history. Moving further east on to Alborobello, a quaint town and 'comune' in the province of Bari, in Puglia. Famous for its unique 'trulli' constructions. The Trulli of Alberobello are part of the UNESCO World Heritage and definitely a place not to be missed. Then moving into the Brindisi region of Puglia, lies the historic town of Ostuni, famed for its wonderful white architecture, a popular destination with tourists from around the world with the plethora of nearby pristine beaches, historical architecture the city offers as well as Ostuni's surroundings, full of grape and olive groves.
